Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

Etobicoke, Ontario Organization: Etobicoke Headache Clinic Position Type: Part-time Compensation: $27-$32/hr (based on experience and qualifications) About Etobicoke Headache Clinic Etobicoke Headache Clinic is a specialized outpatient neurology practice dedicated to the assessment and management of primary headache disorders, including migraine, tension-type headache, cluster headache, and other headache conditions. The clinic is seeking a professional, organized, and patient-focused Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to support clinical operations and patient care in collaboration with a fellowship-trained headache neurologist.

Key Responsibilities

- Obtain and document patient medical histories, headache characteristics, medication lists, and other relevant clinical information.
- Conduct headache-related nursing assessments, including symptom evaluation, treatment response monitoring, and identification of concerns requiring physician review, within the RPN scope of practice.
- Assist the neurologist with patient consultations, follow-up appointments, and headache-related procedures.
- Prepare patients, medications, and clinical equipment for Botox injections, peripheral nerve blocks, and other outpatient procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as authorized, within the RPN scope of practice and applicable clinic policies.
- Provide patient education regarding headache diaries, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and physician-directed treatment plans.
- Assist with medication reconciliation, prescription renewal requests,



and insurance authorization documentation.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Qualifications and Requirements
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Practical Nurse.
- Graduation from an approved Practical Nursing program.
- 2+ years of experience, preferably in an outpatient clinic, specialty medical practice, or neurology setting.
- Solid clinical assessment, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records, preferably OSCAR Pro, and standard computer applications.
- Ability to work independently within the RPN scope of practice while collaborating effectively with the clinical team. What the Clinic Offers
