About the Position We are looking for an apprentice/helper who is genuinely interested in learning the flooring trade. You will primarily be working with me either side by side or nearby. You will be a subcontractor for our company.
This is a hands on, physically demanding position. The work isn't easy, especially when you're first starting out, but it becomes much more manageable as you develop your skills, build momentum and become familiar with the work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Moving and handling flooring materials.
- Sweeping floor and cleaning tools.
- Assisting with flooring installations.
- Learning to install different flooring materials and products.
- Following instructions and maintaining a productive work workplace. The goal is to teach you the trade and gradually give you more responsibility as your skills develop. My ideal scenario is to have you grow to the point where you can run your own sites. Requirements

- Starting wage: $26/hour, to learn a skilled trade with higher earning potential
- Full-time, ongoing work
- Opportunity to work more than 40 hours per week if desired.
- Performance-based raises as your skills, productivity and responsibilities increase. The more you learn, the more responsibility you take on and the more flooring you can independently install, the more earning potential you'll have. Work Locations I travel wherever the work takes me. Most projects are in Victoria, but we also regularly work in Nanaimo and Duncan.
There are occasional opportunities to travel further for projects, sometimes as far as Winnipeg. These out of town projects are generally temporary, lasting approximately 2–3 weeks before returning home. Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 – 50.0 per week Work
