Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years*. You'll report to the Supervisor and be surrounded by a friendly, supportive team. What your days will look like
- Plan and deliver an inclusive, play-based program that supports each child's well-being and development, guided by *How Does Learning Happen?
* and the centre's program statement.
- Observe children, document their learning and development, and use what you see to plan exciting next steps.
- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
- Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits




- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
- Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
- Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
- Follow the centre's health, safety, emergency and illness policies, and complete daily health and safety checks.
- Build respectful relationships with families and respond to concerns professionally. Qualifications Required
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- Minimum 1 years of experience in a licensed childcare setting
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR (infant/child) certification, or willingness to obtain it before starting.
- A vulnerable sector check (to be provided before starting).
- Ability to work on site and to lift, bend and be active with children throughout the day. Skills and personal suitability
- Leadership and sound judgement.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Dependability, punctuality and flexibility.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
- Honesty, integrity and solid values and ethics.
- Organization and the ability to multitask. Pay: $25.86-$28.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
