Job Description
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, hardworking, and customer-focused Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate must have excellent customer service skills, be comfortable performing daily medication deliveries using their own vehicle, and be willing to assist with pharmacy cleaning and maintenance. Previous pharmacy experience is an asset but not required. We are happy to train the right candidate who demonstrates a positive attitude, solid work ethic, and willingness to learn. Three Mandatory Job Requirements 1. Excellent Customer Service Skills (MUST)
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be friendly, professional, patient, and helpful when interacting with customers.
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or a similar customer-facing position will be given priority during the hiring process.
- Must be comfortable answering phone calls, assisting walk-in customers, and handling customer inquiries.
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond to help customers. 2. Daily Medication Deliveries (MUST)
- Must hold a valid Alberta driver's licence and be legally permitted to drive in Alberta.
- Must own or have reliable access to a personal vehicle and be willing to use it for daily medication deliveries.
- Must maintain appropriate vehicle insurance that permits work-related medication deliveries.
- Must be willing and available to deliver medications to customers on a daily basis as part of regular job duties.
- Must be comfortable driving to multiple customer locations and completing deliveries in a timely, professional, and confidential manner.




- Must be dependable and responsible when handling medication deliveries.
- Mileage reimbursement will be provided at $0.50 per kilometre for approved business-related delivery travel, in addition to regular hourly wages.
- Must maintain accurate delivery mileage records. 3. Pharmacy Cleaning & Sanitization (MUST)
- Must be willing to participate in daily pharmacy cleaning and sanitization duties.
- Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, wiping counters, sanitizing workstations, taking out garbage, and maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy.
- Must be comfortable performing these duties regularly without hesitation.
- Must take initiative to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and staff. Other Pharmacy Assistant Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with day-to-day pharmacy operations under their supervision.
- Help with prescription intake, processing, preparation, and packaging as permitted.
- Assist with prescription pickup and customer inquiries.
- Answer phone calls and provide excellent front-store service.
- Operate the cash register and process customer transactions.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving stock, and checking expiry dates.
- Organize pharmacy shelves, supplies, and merchandise.




- Assist with blister packaging and other pharmacy support tasks.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow pharmacy policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties assigned by the pharmacist or pharmacy manager. Qualifications
- Previous retail or customer service experience strongly preferred.
- Previous pharmacy assistant experience is an asset but not mandatory.
- Valid Alberta driver's licence and access to a reliable personal vehicle are mandatory.
- Appropriate vehicle insurance for medication deliveries is required.
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Reliable, punctual, honest, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on different responsibilities.
