At Specsavers Chinook Centre, we're looking for an experienced Optometric Assistant, Ophthalmic Assistant, or Optical Retail Qualified to join our team. The Role: Creating Exceptional Eyecare Experiences As an Eyecare Consultant, you'll support patients throughout their eyecare journey while helping them find eyewear they love and ensuring every visit is welcoming, professional, and memorable.
- Perform pre-testing procedures including retinal imaging, OCT, visual fields, auto-refraction, and tonometry
- Assist with patient intake, histories, and electronic records
- Support clinic flow and prepare patients for examinations
- Help customers select frames and lenses that suit their lifestyle, vision needs, and personal style
- Process eyewear orders and coordinate collections
- Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Support the team during high-volume periods in a fast-paced retail environment Who Thrives in This Role? Previous optical, optometric, or ophthalmic experience is required.
- Experience as an Optometric Assistant, Ophthalmic Assistant, Optical Assistant, Eyecare Consultant, or Optical Retail Associate
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills




- Confidence recommending eyewear and assisting with frame styling
- Ability to stay calm, positive, and organized during busy periods
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- Comfort working with technology, electronic medical records, and diagnostic equipment
- A team-first attitude and willingness to support colleagues wherever needed
- Availability to work retail hours, including daytime, evenings, and weekends
