Overview The Daycare Assistant / ECE Assistant supports children's daily care, learning, and development in a welcoming Montessori-inspired classroom environment. This hands-on role combines attentive caregiving with educational support, encouraging children to develop independence, confidence, creativity, and social skills. The assistant works closely with educators to maintain a safe, nurturing, and organized environment where every child feels valued and supported. Responsibilities
- Assist educators with daily classroom routines, Montessori activities, transitions, and age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Encourage children's independence, curiosity, and hands-on exploration through Montessori-inspired activities.
- Provide attentive care and support children's daily needs, including meals, hygiene, rest, and outdoor play.
- Promote positive social interactions, respect, inclusion, and cooperation among children.
- Support children with diverse abilities and individual developmental needs, adapting activities and providing appropriate assistance.
- Observe children's progress, interests, and behaviour, and communicate relevant observations with educators and colleagues.
- Help maintain a clean, secure, welcoming, and well-organized classroom environment.

Skills Required: Practical caregiving skills, effective communication, patience, attentiveness, and the ability to support children's daily routines, learning, and social development. A caring and respectful approach is essential when responding to children's individual needs and encouraging their independence. Preferred: Experience in a daycare, preschool, Montessori classroom, early childhood education, or teaching environment. Experience supporting children with diverse abilities or developmental needs is also an asset. Knowledge of Montessori principles and a willingness to learn and work collaboratively with educators are highly valued. Pay: From $28.25 per hour Expected hours: 45.0 per week
