About us
We're building wearable hardware that tracks attention, focus, and stress: smart glasses with fNIRS (functional near-infrared spectroscopy) sensing and an integrated active display, paired with a personalized dashboard and virtual assistant. Think WHOOP, but for your brain. We're a small team, so you'll work directly with the people making the design decisions.
About the role
We're looking for a hands-on hardware engineering intern to help move our prototype forward. You'll build, test, break, and rebuild real hardware, and see your work show up in the product.
What you'll do
- Design and assemble prototype electronics, including sensor and driver boards
- Create and iterate on CAD models for enclosures, frames, and sensor mounting
- Solder, rework, and debug PCBs and wiring
- Run bench tests on sensors and power systems, and document the results
- Support integration of electronics, mechanics, and firmware as the prototype evolves What we're looking for
- Current student or recent graduate in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, biomedical, or a related engineering field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- CAD experience ([SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / Onshape])
- Comfort with soldering and hand tools
- Self-directed, motivated, and eager to learn quickly in a small team Bonus points
- Software or firmware experience
- PCB design
- Optics or optical sensing
- Integrated circuits What you'll gain
- Hands-on experience taking a wearable biosensing device from concept to prototype
- Exposure to fNIRS, optics, and miniaturization challenges in head-worn hardware
- Close mentorship and real ownership in a startup environment Details
