Transmission project accounting in Calgary or Edmonton demands cost control, financial reporting, and full life-cycle accounting for construction projects. Valard Construction is seeking a Project Accountant reporting to the Project Controller. You will track project costs, maintain budgets, support client billing, and uphold financial controls. The work spans project setup, forecasting, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, subcontract administration, audits, and closeout.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up projects, cost codes, budgets, and job master data
- Manage accruals, journal entries, forecasts, and variance analysis
- Prepare client billings and monitor accounts receivable collections
- Reconcile contract values, holdbacks, billings,



and forecasts
- Close projects and complete final cost reporting

Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, business, or related field
- Five years of project accounting experience
- Experience supporting large construction projects
- Understanding of percentage of completion accounting
