Our Mission Lumenix develops hardware, software, sensor systems, and artificial intelligence solutions for healthcare and other industries across North America. Our mission is to improve safety, operational efficiency, and quality of life through innovative, practical applications of technology.

Our Artificially Intelligent Monitoring System (AIMS) applies privacy-preserving ambient AI to healthcare environments, providing actionable intelligence that helps clinical teams improve patient safety and care. Lumenix is expanding its technology platform and pursuing opportunities in both domestic and international markets.

Our Culture Lumenix values technical excellence, collaboration, initiative, and practical problem-solving. Our multidisciplinary teams bring together diverse skills and perspectives to address complex challenges. We encourage independent thinking, professional growth, and a shared commitment to delivering meaningful results for our clients.

Our History Founded in 2012, Lumenix initially developed a national platform combining lighting, software, and sensor technologies for clean technology and property technology applications. Following the acquisition of AIMS technology in 2020, the company expanded its focus to include ambient AI solutions for clinical environments.

AIMS uses a network of ceiling-mounted devices and infrared-based 3D sensors to anonymously perceive human movement and positioning without collecting personally identifiable information. The platform delivers real-time intelligence designed to help healthcare teams prevent adverse events, improve health outcomes, and support clinical staff.

You You are an experienced hardware or mechanical systems engineer who has designed complex physical products and taken them from concept through prototyping, fabrication, and production. You combine strong mechanical design skills with an understanding of how computing, sensing, electronic, and mechanical components must work together as a reliable integrated system.

You are proficient in mechanical CAD, comfortable developing detailed assemblies and manufacturing drawings, and understand materials, tolerances, thermal management, and design for manufacture. You enjoy solving practical engineering problems and recognize that a successful hardware design must be reliable, manufacturable, serviceable, and suitable for its intended environment.

You are equally comfortable developing new designs, working hands-on with prototypes, and collaborating with fabrication teams, computer engineers, and manufacturing partners to resolve technical challenges and maintain product quality.

Role Summary Lumenix is seeking a Senior Hardware / Systems Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and continuous improvement of hardware for the AIMS platform.

AIMS combines embedded computing, infrared-based sensing, power distribution, communications, and mechanical assemblies into integrated devices designed for continuous operation in clinical environments.

The reliability and manufacturability of these systems are essential to successful deployment at scale.

You will be responsible for the mechanical and systems-level design of AIMS hardware, including enclosures, mounting systems, component integration, thermal management, and design for manufacture. You will develop prototypes, maintain production-ready designs and documentation, and work closely with fabrication personnel and manufacturing partners to ensure that completed products meet established specifications.

You will also collaborate with computer engineering, software, and field operations teams to ensure that hardware designs meet functional requirements and can be manufactured, installed, maintained, and operated reliably.

Key Responsibilities Hardware Design and Development Lead the mechanical and systems-level design of AIMS hardware, including device enclosures, mounting systems, component assemblies, and supporting hardware infrastructure. Develop detailed 3D CAD models, mechanical assemblies, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications suitable for prototyping and production. Design and refine hardware to accommodate embedded computing systems, sensors, power components, networking interfaces, and other integrated technologies. Evaluate materials, mechanical tolerances, thermal performance, structural integrity, component accessibility, and serviceability. Develop and test hardware prototypes, identify design deficiencies, and implement improvements based on engineering evaluation and field experience. Apply design-for-manufacture and design-for-assembly principles to improve production consistency, reduce complexity, and support manufacturing at scale. Work closely with computer engineering and other techni
