Taken Digital is a lifecycle & retention marketing agency that runs email and SMS programs on Klaviyo and Attentive for DTC brands doing $10M to $100M+ a year. We're looking for a strategist who has done this work at an agency before, so you're used to running several brands at once, with launches and client requests that can change midweek. You're at the point in your career where you want to go deeper on strategy and own the results for your accounts, with a project manager, builders, designers and AI workflows supporting you. Why this role
• You'll work directly with our founder, who has 20+ years in consulting and agency work with brands like Air Canada, Smuckers and TD Bank. You'll get regular one-on-one feedback on your strategy and briefs, and see how client decisions get made.
• You'll own the strategy and the results for each of your accounts, and the brands you work on are big enough that a positive strategy shows up clearly in their revenue.
• We've built AI workflows for reporting, audits and analysis, and we expect you to use them to move faster and take on more.
• We pay performance bonuses tied to the results on your accounts.
What you'll do
• Own lifecycle strategy for your accounts, including flow architecture, the campaign calendar, segmentation and list growth
• Write briefs for designers, copywriters and builders, and review what comes back
• Put together monthly reporting that explains what changed, why it changed and what we should do next
• Audit Klaviyo and Attentive accounts for new prospects and existing clients
• Keep a testing roadmap for each account, with hypotheses and results written down
• Do the final QA check before anything goes to a client What we're looking for
• At least 2 years at an email or retention agency,
running 4 or more DTC accounts at the same time
• At least 3 years owning email and SMS strategy overall, beyond executing someone else's plan
• Experience owning the retention program for at least one brand doing $5M+ a year (we'll ask you to name it)
• Strong Klaviyo skills, including flow logic, conditional splits and segments built on event and predictive data, plus experience with Attentive or Klaviyo SMS
• Results you can put numbers on, such as flows you built or rebuilt and what they changed
• Experience briefing designers, copywriters or developers
• A system for tracking deadlines across accounts and raising risks early
• Clear writing, since most of our communication happens in briefs and ClickUp Nice to have: experience across several product categories, Shopify, and using AI tools in your workflow. How we work
• This is a full-time role, 40 hours a week, after a paid trial.
• We're based in Toronto and would prefer someone in the area, but we're open to anyone who can work Eastern business hours.
• Pay is based on experience and location, and we'll go over it on the first call.
• In your first week you'll take on one account alongside our founder, and you'll add another account each week after that. Our values We hire for these as much as for skills, and we look for the same things in our clients.
• Always Hungry: We want people who keep getting better at the craft and are curious about why a result happened.
Being humble and always learning is a required mindset.
• Helpful Without Being Asked: If you spot a broken flow, a missed exclusion or a client question nobody has answered, you deal with it or raise it, even when it isn't on your task list. Nobody here says "that's not my job."
• Enjoying the Impact: We care about results for our clients, and we think people get better results when they enjoy the work and the people they do it with.
• Uncomfortably Honest: We tell clients what they need to hear, even if it isn't what they want to hear, and we tell each other when we make mistakes or a deadline is slipping. This probably isn't the right fit if
• You're looking for a lighter workload or a slower pace.
• You'd prefer to focus on one brand at a time.
• You want to stay out of Klaviyo entirely. You'll be in the accounts every week.
• Most of your experience is in B2B, SaaS or a single in-house brand.
• You tend to go quiet when you're behind on work. We'd always rather hear early that something is running late.
How to apply

• Walk us through one flow or segment you built or rebuilt: what made you change it, what you changed, and the result in numbers.
• What are you doing now, when could you start full-time, and what would you want this role to look like in 12 months? Apply here: https://forms.clickup.com/8658997/f/8881n-12791/2448PJL8SMHEXZODA9
