Role: Technical Business Analyst

Montreal, QC Work Model: Hybrid Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst with a solid understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM), authentication frameworks, and backend application development. The ideal candidate will have experience working closely with product owners, architects, and development teams to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications. The candidate should have a good understanding of Java, microservices, APIs, and IAM solutions such as ForgeRock, Okta, and SiteMinder. This role requires strong stakeholder management, documentation, coordination, and problem-solving skills to support the successful delivery of technical initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, Architects, and Development teams to understand business needs and technical requirements.
• Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical documentation for development teams.
• Prepare technical requirement documents, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process workflows.
• Maintain and manage requirements, user stories, and project documentation using Jira and Confluence.
• Work closely with Java developers and backend engineering teams to understand application architecture, microservices, APIs, and integration requirements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, senior stakeholders, architects, and external vendors to drive project deliverables.
• Support IAM-related initiatives involving authentication, authorization, MFA, and access management.
• Work with IAM technologies and platforms such as ForgeRock, Okta, and SiteMinder.
• Identify operational risks, technical challenges, and process gaps, and recommend effective solutions.
• Support DevOps-related processes and ensure alignment between requirements, development, testing, and implementation.




• Facilitate discussions between technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
• Support project planning, progress tracking, resource coordination, and delivery activities. Required Skills & Experience
• Experience as a Technical Business Analyst or IT Business Analyst in an enterprise IT environment.
• Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM), authentication, authorization, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
• Working knowledge of Java development, microservices architecture, REST APIs, and backend systems.
• Understanding of authentication frameworks and IAM solutions such as ForgeRock, Okta, and SiteMinder.
• Knowledge of IT operations, operational risk, network topologies, IT security, and IT Service Management (ITSM).
• Ability to gather, analyze, and document complex business and technical requirements.
• Experience working with development teams and translating requirements into actionable technical specifications.
• Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence for requirement management and project documentation.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional team coordination skills.
• Experience working with external vendors and resolving complex technical and operational issues.
• Understanding of project management methodologies, planning, and delivery processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including handling and reporting on large datasets. Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience in Identity and Access Management or enterprise security projects.
• Exposure to DevOps processes and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise authentication and access management integrations.
• Experience working with senior leadership, enterprise architects, and product teams.
