Job Title: Java Developer with Kafka

Job Description

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, deploy and support enterprise applications using Java and related technologies.
• Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, contributing to analysis, solution design, implementation, testing and production support.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
• Drive engineering best practices including code quality, automation, application resiliency, performance and operational support.
• Contribute to application modernisation, continuous improvement initiatives and agile delivery processes. Required Experience
• Strong commercial software development experience with Java (Java 17+) and Spring Boot.
• Experience building and supporting REST APIs and backend services.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design,



software engineering principles and development best practices.
• Experience with SQL, relational databases, automated testing and CI/CD practices.
• Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse and resolve complex production issues.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams. Desirable

Experience:
• Experience with technologies such as Kafka, Elasticsearch, Angular (web development), microservices architectures, cloud-hosted environments, observability platforms (OpenTelemetry) and DevOps practices would be beneficial.
