- Title: AI Engineer Lead – Azure GenAI

Role Summary

Seeking a hands-on AI Engineer Lead to lead engineering and production implementation of enterprise Generative AI solutions on Microsoft Azure. The role will translate AI architecture into scalable, secure, production-ready solutions while providing technical leadership to the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end AI engineering from design and development through testing and production deployment.
- Build LLM, RAG and Agentic AI solutions using Microsoft Foundry, Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Search.
- Develop RAG pipelines covering chunking, embeddings, vector/hybrid search, retrieval, reranking and grounding.
- Build AI agents, tool/function calling, structured outputs and enterprise API integrations.
- Lead code/design reviews, troubleshoot complex technical issues and ensure production readiness.
- Mentor AI engineers and convert architecture into executable engineering tasks.
- Work closely with AI Architects, Product Owners, business, data, cloud and security teams.

Required Experience

- 8+ years of software engineering/application development experience.
- 3+ years of Azure/cloud-native development experience.




- Solid hands-on experience delivering GenAI/LLM, RAG and Agentic AI solutions.
- Experience leading engineering teams and taking AI solutions from PoC to enterprise production.

- Microsoft Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search
- Python and REST APIs
- Prompt engineering and embeddings
- Vector/hybrid search and retrieval/reranking
- Function/tool calling and structured outputs
- LLM evaluation, grounding and hallucination mitigation
- Guardrails/content safety and context/token management
- Production-grade cloud application development and troubleshooting

Preferred Azure Machine Learning, multimodal AI, AI monitoring/observability, Responsible AI, CI/CD and Azure DevOps.

Vendor screening focus: Candidates should have strong Azure GenAI + RAG + Agentic AI + Python experience with demonstrated enterprise production implementation.

Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
