About the role
Cinareo is hiring a Vice President, Technology: a hands-on technical leader who will own our platform, lead our engineering team and drive our AI roadmap through a period of rapid growth. This role is designed to grow into Chief Technology Officer as Cinareo scales. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will lead, mentor and coordinate the engineers who build our platform, set the technical direction that carries the company through its next stage, and own the results: what we ship, how well it works and how quickly we deliver. What you will do First 90 days
• Take full ownership of the platform, cloud infrastructure, release process and engineering roadmap from our current engineering lead.
• Learn our customers, integrations and data model well enough to make architecture decisions with confidence.
• Assess our delivery, quality, security and reliability practices, and set out a plan to strengthen them. Technical leadership
• Architecture and technical direction. Be the final technical decision-maker on platform architecture, data design and infrastructure. Review designs and critical changes, set engineering standards, and step into the code yourself when a problem calls for it.
• Delivery and quality. Own the release process, test strategy and defect management so we ship predictably and safely.
• Reliability and IT operations. Own uptime, monitoring, incident response and disaster recovery, along with internal IT, identity and access, and device management.
• Security and compliance. Own our compliance program. We hold SOC 1 Type 1 and are completing our SOC 2 Type 2 examination. Maintain control evidence and handle enterprise security reviews accurately and quickly.
• Customer and commercial support. Act as the senior technical counterpart in enterprise sales, partner conversations, onboarding, integration scoping and escalations. People and team
• Lead our distributed engineering team. Manage, mentor and coordinate a team of full-time and contract engineers across time zones, including off-shore, with clear priorities, deliverables and accountability.
• Build the team as we grow. Decide when to hire, contract or partner; recruit strong engineers; and develop our first technical leads.
• Set the culture.

Build an engineering culture grounded in intellectual honesty, ownership and close collaboration with product and design. AI and growth
• AI roadmap. Lead delivery of our AI roadmap, from AI Assist through Intelligence and Predictive Optimization. This includes the data foundations, LLM and machine-learning capabilities, and the responsible-AI governance enterprise buyers expect.
• AI-native engineering. Make AI part of how we build, using AI-assisted development, testing and operations so a small team can move like a much larger one.
• Platform for scale. Evolve the architecture so reliability, performance and infrastructure cost keep pace as customers and data volumes grow.
• Integrations and partnerships. Own our integration strategy and APIs across CCaaS and WFM and business systems our customers run and support our technology partnerships.
• Planning and governance. Turn the product roadmap into capacity and budget, recommend build, buy or partner decisions, and report technology strategy and risk to the executive team and Board. How you will work At first, much of the work is close to the ground: taking ownership of the platform, tightening delivery, quality, reliability and security, and guiding the team through shipping our first AI capabilities. As the team grows and operations run through process and people, the balance shifts toward strategy, the AI roadmap and scaling the organization, and toward the CTO role. We need someone who moves easily between strategy and execution: working through a production incident with the team in the morning and presenting the technology roadmap to the Executive and the Board in the afternoon, making sound calls with incomplete information, and adjusting quickly as the business scales. What success looks like
• In 6 months: you own the platform end-to-end, releases are predictable, our AI Assist has shipped, and our SOC 2 Type 2 report is complete.
• In 12 months:

the team has clear technical leadership in place, the next phases of our AI roadmap are in delivery, and the platform is ready for the customer growth and technical due diligence that comes with our next stage. What you bring
• 10+ years in software engineering, including senior technical leadership at a B2B SaaS company.
• A former developer with a strong engineering foundation: you know how to write code, can review it with authority, and earn the respect of the engineers you lead.
• A track record of owning delivery outcomes, being accountable for what a team ships, how reliably it runs and whether it lands on time.
• Experience shipping AI capabilities, such as LLM-based features, machine learning or both, into a production SaaS product.
• Experience designing or evolving cloud SaaS architecture (multi-tenant ideally), including cost and performance management.
• Experience leading and mentoring distributed teams, including contractors or partner teams both on-shore and off-shore, and hiring and developing engineers.
• Credibility with enterprise customers and partners on architecture, security and integration.
• Explicit written communication that executives and Board members can act on.
• Real enthusiasm for AI and how it is changing both software products and the way software gets built. Nice to have
• Contact center technology: WFM and CCaaS (Genesys, Aspect, Verint, NICE, Five9, Amazon Connect or similar)
• Leading a security compliance program (SOC 2, ISO 27001 or equivalent) at the level of controls and evidence.
• Calculation-heavy domains such as forecasting, simulation or optimization.
• Responsible-AI governance. Details
• Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
• Career path: Designed to grow into Chief Technology Officer
•

Location:
Remote. Ontario preferred, but must be based in Canada
• Compensation: Commensurate with experience To apply Send your CV to [email protected] with a short note covering:
• a SaaS platform or engineering team you scaled, and how you led the team that built it; and
• your experience with AI and where you see it making the biggest difference in the dev-ops and our production platform.
