Business Development Manager, Canada• Do you already have relationships with infrastructure owners, operators or government agencies in energy, aviation or transport?

- Have you sold into the public sector and won through RFPs, tenders and long sales cycles?
- Do you want to be the person who builds a new market, not inherit a territory?

If so, we'd love to hear from you.

The Critical BitsSpatial Media is a creative digital agency specialising in immersive engagement and communication tools for major infrastructure, energy, aviation and transport projects. We combine strategic storytelling with interactive technology (3D visualisation, AR/VR, digital engagement platforms, mapping tools and bespoke web experiences) to help project teams, government agencies and global engineering firms explain complex projects and connect with communities.

We're a 38+ strong team across Australia, New Zealand and Canada, and we're growing our presence in the Canadian market. This is a fully remote role, so you can be based anywhere in Canada, with regular client meetings, industry events and travel as required.

The GigThis is a market-building role. You'll open doors with the organisations that plan, own and deliver major infrastructure, turn those conversations into a qualified pipeline, and close deals. There are no pre-set territories or inherited accounts: you'll shape how we grow in Canada.

You'll open doors on your own, but you'll never be selling alone. Our Client Engagement and project teams in Australia, New Zealand and Canada will back you on proposals, pitches and delivery.

A typical week might include:

- Mapping and prioritising target organisations across energy, aviation and transport infrastructure.
- Meeting decision-makers at project owners, agencies, and engineering and consulting firms.
- Pitching and presenting our products to senior stakeholders.
- Leading proposals, RFQs and tender responses, with support from our bid templates and team.
- Negotiating and closing contracts.
- Handing new projects over to our project management team and attending key kick-off meetings.
- Keeping the CRM current and reporting at weekly sales meetings.

What You'll Bring• A proven track record of winning new business with infrastructure owners, operators or engineering firms in energy, aviation, transport or related sectors.
- Experience selling to government agencies, including public procurement, RFPs and tenders.
- An existing network in these sectors that you can activate from day one.
- A history of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals with long sales cycles.
- The confidence to explain digital and visual technology to technical and non-technical audiences. You don't need to build it, just understand and sell it.
- Strong written skills for proposals and tender responses.

- The discipline to work independently and the instinct to bring the team in when it counts.

Bonus Points• Experience in community consultation or stakeholder engagement contexts.
- Background in an agency, consultancy or creative studio.
- Familiarity with 3D visualisation, digital twins or web production.

The Perks• Flexible work-from-home arrangements, with fast, reliable internet and the ability to meet clients when needed.
- Work on cutting-edge products with ambitious visions for the future, which you'll help shape.
- Bonus and share option plans for team members who drive key step changes.
- Quarterly RDOs to use however you like.
- A flat structure where your ideas genuinely shape the business.
- A few in-person meetups a year with valuable company, great food and the best trivia game around.

When You ApplyPlease include brief answers to these three questions:
- Which infrastructure, energy, aviation or transport organisations have you sold to in the last five years?
- What was your typical deal size?
- What was your typical sales cycle length?
