Nevvon is hiring a Controller

Where the future of work meets healthcare workers - that’s where you’ll find us! We’re here to make sure vulnerable populations are treated by highly trained and motivated healthcare professionals.

Nevvon is the compliance and training infrastructure behind the home care, home health, and facility-based care workforce. Our platform plugs into the systems agencies already use to schedule, bill, and stay audit-ready, and our curriculum keeps pace with training requirements as they change from state to state. Our mission is to empower caregivers and agencies to provide better care, improve staff recruitment and retention, save agencies time and money, and ultimately enhance the quality of care.

In August 2026, Nevvon entered a strategic partnership with BVP Forge ,the private equity arm of Bessemer Venture Partners, aimed at accelerating its growth and expanding its product offering. With that partnership we’re entering our next stage of growth, and our numbers need to drive more of our decisions. You’ll own our accounting function end to end across our Canadian and U.S. entities, lead our first annual audit, and build the systems, KPIs, and reporting that give our leadership team, board, and investors one trusted source of truth.

You’ll also be a key partner in our value creation plan, turning numbers into insights our leaders can act on. This role will report directly to the VP Finance.

Here’s what you’ll be focused on:

- Accounting and month-end close: Own the accounting function end to end, including a timely and accurate month-end close, reconciliations, revenue recognition, and multi-entity accounting and consolidation across our Canadian and U.S. entities. You’ll work closely with our bookkeeper,

reviewing their work and supporting them through each close.
- First-year audit: Lead our first annual financial statement audit. Build the accounting policies, documentation, and controls that make us audit-ready, and serve as the main point of contact for our external auditors.
- SaaS metrics and KPIs: Develop and own our KPIs, including ARR, net revenue retention, gross margin, and customer acquisition metrics. Set clear definitions and keep them consistent across Finance, Sales, and leadership.
- Executive and investor reporting: Establish a regular reporting cadence for the executive team, board, and investors, including monthly financial packages and KPI dashboards that explain what the numbers mean.
- Debt reporting: Own reporting for our bank credit facility, including covenant tracking, compliance certificates, and lender reporting.
- FP&A;: Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, and partner with department leaders on spend and performance.
- Systems and AI: Lead the implementation of a scalable finance tech stack, including an ERP and a spend management platform, and use AI and automation to make the finance team faster and more accurate.
- Value creation: Partner with the VP Finance and leadership on value creation initiatives, providing the analysis that drives decisions on growth, margins, and efficiency.
- Tax and compliance:

Work with external advisors on corporate tax filings and compliance in Canada and the U.S.

In order to be successful in this role, you’ll need to have:
- CPA designation (required)
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time at a public accounting firm and in a Controller or senior accounting role, ideally at a SaaS or technology company
- Proven experience owning the month-end close and multi-entity consolidation, including multiple currencies
- Experience leading or playing a key role in a financial statement audit
- SaaS metrics fluency: you can build and defend ARR, retention, and unit economics reporting, and explain it to leadership and investors
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP, HubSpot, and a spend management platform such as Ramp or Float, plus strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
- AI fluency: you use AI tools in your daily work to analyze data and automate repetitive tasks, and you can tell when the output is right and when it isn’t
- Robust communication skills, with the ability to explain complex numbers simply to people outside Finance
- Judgment and ownership: you’re comfortable making a call, communicating it clearly, and following through
- A builder’s mindset and willingness to get into the details, whether that’s fixing an issue or setting up a new process from scratch

These are not a must, but will provide you with an advantage:
- Experience in a venture-backed or private equity-backed company, including investor and lender reporting
- Experience leading an ERP or finance system implementations
- Experience with Canadian and U.S. tax and compliance

Salary Range: 100-130k CAD
