Job Title: Java Developer with Kafka

Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, deploy and support enterprise applications using Java and related technologies.
- Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, contributing to analysis, solution design, implementation, testing and production support.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
- Drive engineering best practices including code quality, automation, application resiliency, performance and operational support.
- Contribute to application modernisation, continuous improvement initiatives and agile delivery processes. Required Experience
- Strong commercial software development experience with Java (Java 17+) and Spring Boot.
- Experience building and supporting REST APIs and backend services.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design, software engineering principles and development best practices.




- Experience with SQL, relational databases, automated testing and CI/CD practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse and resolve complex production issues.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams.

Desirable Experience:

- Experience with technologies such as Kafka, Elasticsearch, Angular (web development), microservices architectures, cloud-hosted environments, observability platforms (OpenTelemetry) and DevOps practices would be beneficial.
- Previous experience within financial services or other large-scale enterprise environments is advantageous.
