Apply advanced anesthesia and surgical skills as an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician at 404 Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital in Newmarket, Ontario.

This full-time Surgery department position supports complex small-animal referral cases alongside experienced surgeons and veterinary specialists. You will provide perioperative care, advanced monitoring, diagnostics, treatments, and client communication. The role also includes mentoring veterinary assistants, newer team members, technician assistants, and practicum students.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support complex referral surgeries and advanced anesthesia medicine
- Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations and pre-operative diagnostics
- Place catheters, administer medications, and support fluid therapy
- Monitor sedation and general anesthesia for patient safety




- Maintain accurate patient files, medical logs, and inventory

Requirements:

- Registered Veterinary Technologist in valuable standing or eligible for registration
- Emergency or surgical experience, or interest in VTS designation
- Knowledge of pharmacology, anesthesia protocols, and emergency triage
- Technical skills in catheter placement, assessment, and laboratory diagnostics
- Organizational skills and critical thinking for changing priorities
