Senior Zendesk Developer / Implementation Specialist

Experience

- 6 to 9 years of overall IT experience
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on Zendesk experience
- Experience in Zendesk data migration, archival, platform consolidation, enterprise integration, or large-scale data extraction.
- Experience supporting at least one end-to-end migration or enterprise integration engagement is preferred.

Role Summary

Responsible for leading Zendesk source-side technical activities for enterprise data migration and platform-transformation engagements.

The role requires solid hands-on expertise in Zendesk data models, APIs, source assessment, data extraction, transformation, attachments, knowledge content, incremental migration, and reconciliation.

The specialist will work with solution architects, data migration teams, integration teams, target-platform teams, security specialists, business stakeholders, and testing teams to ensure Zendesk data is securely extracted, accurately transformed, reconciled, and handed over in the agreed target format.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess Zendesk instances, enabled products, configurations, and integrations.
- Inventory brands, forms, fields, users, organizations, groups, workflows, webhooks, and applications.
- Configure Zendesk fields, forms, triggers, automations, workflows, roles, and permissions.
- Profile data volumes, historical coverage, attachments, and data-quality issues.




- Build backend and integration components using Node.js or Python.
- Integrate Zendesk with ERP, finance, product-data, and other enterprise systems using REST APIs and middleware.
- Develop scheduled jobs and batch processes with logging, retry, reconciliation, and error-handling capabilities.
- Implement custom modules, role-based access controls, data-retention rules, and record-hold functionality.
- Develop migration manifests, control totals, and reconciliation reports.
- Follow applicable data-security, retention, and access-control requirements.

- Zendesk Support and Guide.
- Zendesk REST APIs and incremental exports.
- Zendesk tickets, comments, audits, users, organizations, forms, and custom fields.
- Ticket and knowledge attachment handling.
- REST APIs, JSON, OAuth, API tokens, and webhooks.
- Batch processing, retry, checkpoint, and restart mechanisms.
- SQL and relational databases.
- Migration reconciliation and exception handling.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills

Preferred Skills

- Experience migrating data in and out of Zendesk.
- Experience with CRM, service-management, or archival platforms.
- Relevant Zendesk certification
- Experience with enterprise ETL or middleware platforms.
- Cloud staging and secure file-transfer experience.
