Gain on-call psychiatry experience at Lakeridge Health Oshawa while completing emergency consultations and consult-liaison coverage with in office supervision. Residents work with the on-call psychiatrist at this community hospital serving Durham Region. The psychiatrist remains the most responsible physician throughout each shift. Duties include emergency department consultations, consult-liaison coverage, and clinical support for admitted psychiatric patients across 40 inpatient psychiatry beds.

Key Responsibilities
- Complete consultations for the emergency department
- Provide consult-liaison coverage during assigned shifts
- Support clinical issues involving admitted psychiatric patients
- Work under on-site psychiatrist supervision




- Participate in Saturday or Sunday on-call shifts

Requirements:
- Meet Ontario Resident Provisional Registration Program requirements
- Meet residency training program minimum requirements
- Complete PGY1 Internal Medicine and emergency rotations
- Complete adult general psychiatry with full on-call duties
- Complete geriatric and child psychiatry rotations Residents bring completed psychiatry training and emergency experience to supervised on-call coverage at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
