Job Overview

We are an established CPA firm in Ontario seeking an experienced CPA with an active Ontario Public Accounting Licence (PAL) to provide contract support for our assurance practice.

This opportunity is suitable for an experienced public accountant seeking flexible, project-based work with an established accounting firm.

Responsibilities

- Supervise and oversee audit and review engagements.
- Perform technical reviews of working papers and financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS), Canadian Standard on Review Engagements (CSRE) and applicable professional requirements.
- Provide guidance on complex accounting and assurance matters.
- Act as the lead engagement person and sign audit or review reports where appropriate.
- Assist with engagement planning, risk assessment, quality management and completion procedures.
- Support the firm's development of its assurance practice.

Qualifications

- CPA designation in good standing.
- Active Ontario Public Accounting Licence (PAL).
- Demonstrated experience with Canadian audit and review engagements.




- Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting and assurance standards.
- Excellent professional judgment, communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with the firm's team.

Contract Arrangement

- Independent contractor arrangement.
- Flexible, engagement-based workload.
- Compensation negotiable based on experience, responsibilities and engagement complexity.

The successful candidate must be willing to undertake appropriate qualified responsibilities and provide sufficient supervision and involvement to meet applicable professional and regulatory requirements.
