Assistant Store Manager – Dunsmuir

BEAUCOUP is a family-run bakery and café built on quality, craftsmanship, and genuine hospitality. We are looking for a hands-on Assistant Store Manager to help lead our Dunsmuir café and build a strong, supportive team.

About the Role

This position combines active café service with team leadership and daily operational responsibilities. An initial two-week training programme is planned.

Following a three-month probationary period, performance and readiness for potential promotion to Store Manager will be reviewed. Promotion depends on demonstrated capability and business needs and is not guaranteed.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead daily service, including barista duties, opening, and closing.
- Maintain coffee quality, pastry presentation, cleanliness, and food safety standards.
- Deliver attentive customer service and resolve concerns professionally.
- Prepare schedules and manage daily workflow within agreed labour budgets.
- Support team building, onboarding, training, and performance coaching.
- Manage inventory, ordering, supplier communication, and waste control.
- Complete cash reconciliation and accurate end-of-day (EOD) reports.
- Identify and resolve operational issues, report concerns promptly, and follow through with the Owner and Chief of Staff.

Qualifications




- At least six months of experience at supervisor level or above in a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
- Strong practical barista skills and sound knowledge of coffee preparation, espresso equipment, and beverage quality.
- A strong customer service mindset and clear spoken and written English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong organisation, problem-solving skills, and reliable follow-through.
- Previous retail operations experience is highly desirable; hospitality experience in Canada is preferred.
- Availability for opening and closing shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Authorised to work in Canada and able to start within two weeks of accepting an offer.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00-$47,000.00 per year
