Merrick Global Talent is recruiting Cardiologists for an established and rapidly expanding outpatient cardiology group in Ontario.

This is a genuine growth requirement across the group, not a single replacement vacancy. The organisation currently operates across Ontario, with established clinics in Guelph and Markham, a new location opening in Cambridge, and further expansion planned.

For internationally trained Cardiologists, Ontario has also just become considerably more accessible.

Under the recent CPSO Approved Jurisdiction pathway, appropriately trained and certified Cardiologists from recognised jurisdictions may now be eligible for provisional registration in Ontario without first obtaining Canadian Royal College certification or completing the Canadian Royal College specialty examination.

This may be relevant to Cardiologists trained in jurisdictions including:

- Australia / New Zealand
- Ireland
- Singapore
- South Africa
- Switzerland
- United Kingdom

Individual eligibility will depend on your specialist certification, training programme and dates of training, and we can assess this with you before you begin the registration process.

What can you expect from the opportunity?

The group operates high-volume, comprehensive outpatient cardiology clinics receiving referrals from both community Family Physicians and hospital emergency departments.

Services include consultations, echocardiography, Holter monitoring, stress testing and ambulatory cardiac diagnostics, supported by an established clinical and administrative team.

Physicians typically work approximately 9:00am to 4:30/5:00pm, with the clinic designed to complete testing, reporting and patient flow efficiently during the working day rather than leaving significant administration to take home.

Earning potential





Depending on individual workload and billing mix, established physicians within the group can generate approximately:

CAD $4,000-$6,000 per clinic day The group charges just 15% overhead on professional fees.

As an illustration, a physician working four clinic days per week for 48 weeks could generate approximately CAD $768,000-$1.15m in annual gross professional billings, before overhead, tax and other individual expenses.

There is capacity for physicians who want to work at significant volume, but the model also provides considerably more control over working patterns than many traditional salaried consultant positions.

Clinical flexibility

Many physicians within the group combine outpatient practice with hospital appointments.

The organisation has relationships with hospitals and tertiary cardiac centres across the regions in which it operates and can facilitate introductions where appropriate. Hospital privileges and appointments remain subject to the individual hospital.

We are interested in speaking with general Cardiologists as well as physicians with subspecialty interests including:

- Electrophysiology
- Pacing and devices
- Heart failure
- Cardiac imaging
- Preventative cardiology
- Other cardiology subspecialties For physicians who establish themselves within the organisation and share its approach to patient care, there is also a potential pathway to ownership.
