Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dependable Personal Support Worker/Cuidadora/Caregiver /Cuidadora de adultos mayores - to provide full-time care for a FEMALE senior client with high medical needs and Alzheimer’s disease. The position is based in the employer’s home in an urban setting and requires travel with the senior, including driving to medical appointments and occasional overnight trips. A valid driver’s license is required.

This is a live-in role with the option to live-out if preferred. Room and board are provided for live-in arrangements. (LMIA - work permit sponsorship available to the right candidate - see languages requirement below)

Duties

- Provide personal care and companionship
- Assist with bathing, hygiene, and dressing
- Administer bedside care and medications
- Monitor and support Alzheimer’s-related needs
- Change non-sterile dressings and collect specimens
- Assist with feeding and therapeutic diets
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry
- Shop for food and household supplies
- Support regular exercise routines (e.g., walks)
- Care for one small pet
- Drive senior to appointments and accompany on travel
- Maintain a protected, clean, and supportive environment

Qualifications

- Language: English required; ALSO, must speak either Portuguese or Spanish. (Senior doesn't speak English)
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license required
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care is preferred.




- Familiarity with hospice care and working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Knowledge of caregiving best practices, including meal preparation and medication administration.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with diverse populations.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including heavy lifting as needed.
