Companion Caregiver

Part-time employee Kitchener-Waterloo & area $22–25/hour

Now hiring for afternoon and evening shifts — consistent hours with one client and their family.

ABOUT THE ROLE

At Wellura, you're not a number on a rotating schedule. You'll support a small number of clients in their own homes, get to know them and their families, and work with one dedicated Care Coordinator who has your back. Think genuine relationships, not rushed 30-minute visits.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Companionship: conversation, games, activities, walks and outings
- Daily living: light meal prep, dishes, laundry and tidying
- Reminders & routines: medication reminders (non-clinical), evening and bedtime routines, grooming within scope
- Getting around: drive clients to appointments, errands and social activities
- Staying connected: help with video calls, phones and tablets
- Eyes and ears: notice changes in health or safety, log a short note after every visit, and keep your Care Coordinator in the loop

WHAT YOU BRING

Required

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ontario driver's licence (G2+) and your own reliable vehicle
- Auto insurance that covers driving clients (a condition of employment)
- Transparent Vulnerable Sector Check




- Comfortable with smartphone apps
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods
- Clear, friendly communication in English

Nice to have

- University degree (or currently studying) in a health or social science field
- Caregiving, PSW, healthcare, hospitality or customer service experience
- First Aid & CPR (or willing to get it)
- Experience with seniors and/or dementia
- A second language

PAY & PERKS

- $22–25/hour based on experience, plus 4% vacation pay
- Paid training and mileage reimbursement for client driving
- Typically, 15–25 hours/week to start, with room to grow toward full-time
- A small, supportive team where you know your coordinator
