Cook – Permanent Casual Position

Directly reporting to the Site Manager, the Cook is accountable for: Meal Preparation for approximately 50 residents, Serving Meals and Cleanliness of Food Services Area. This position entails a high level of interaction with seniors and requires physical endurance (e.g. maneuvering heavy pots, flour bags).

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

- Demonstrates an understanding of the Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating
- Knowledge of food ratio guidelines based on dietary requirements for seniors
- Demonstrates an understanding of dietary requirements for seniors
- High School Diploma
- Food Handlers Course
- WHMIS
- Level 4 Criminal Record Check

The Pleasant View Lodge is a fast-paced setting with many repetitive tasks. The position can be physically demanding and attention to detail is important. This position requires a combination of standing & walking throughout the shifts.
