Cosmetic Manufacturing Technologist — Flexible Part-Time & Project-Based Work

Vaughan / Greater Toronto Area, Ontario | Hybrid | CAD 30–60 per hour

Help build a cosmetics manufacturing operation from the planning stage. We are preparing to establish a facility in Vaughan to manufacture products for other brands and develop our own brand. Existing formulations have already been developed, and the founder brings experience establishing cosmetics production from the ground up.

We are looking for practical, experienced cosmetic manufacturing specialists for long-term collaboration through individually agreed paid assignments. This opportunity can suit someone seeking additional project work or adaptable part-time involvement. Remote consultations are possible where appropriate; hands-on assignments require attendance in the GTA.

Potential assignments

- Adapt existing formulations for the Canadian market, locally available raw materials and production equipment.
- Review formulations and ingredients for prohibited or restricted substances and applicable Canadian cosmetic requirements.
- Produce samples and trial batches, assess results and make agreed adjustments.
- Transfer formulations to production and scale processes to commercial batch sizes.
- Develop repeatable manufacturing processes and troubleshoot formulation or production issues.
- Select equipment, evaluate suppliers and support installation and commissioning planning.
- Advise on facility layout, renovation, utilities, hygiene and production workflows in coordination with qualified contractors and relevant specialists.
- Help organize the production team, define responsibilities and train staff.
- Establish production journals, batch records, SOPs, cleaning logs, quality-control documentation and other required records.
- Undertake other technical assignments agreed individually.

How we will work together
- Hourly compensation: CAD 30–60, depending on the complexity of the assignment,



required expertise and relevant experience.
- Fixed fees may also be agreed for clearly defined tasks or projects.
- Scope, deliverables, rate or project fee, estimated hours and schedule are agreed before each assignment begins.
- Workload is task-based and may vary. There are no guaranteed weekly hours.
- The first paid assignment begins after we select the specialist and agree on the task and terms.
- Individual arrangements for payment, availability and collaboration can be discussed.

Who we are looking for
- Candidates must currently reside in the Greater Toronto Area and be available for on-site work in Vaughan and the GTA. This is a local hybrid opportunity. Relocation assistance and immigration/work-permit sponsorship are not offered.
- Hands-on experience in cosmetics manufacturing, particularly creams, lotions and emulsions.
- Experience with manufacturing equipment, formulation transfer, scale-up, batch documentation and production troubleshooting relevant to the assignments you can undertake.
- Familiarity with applicable Canadian cosmetic requirements is valuable.
- Russian language skills are an asset for communication with the founder, but are not required.
