We are seeking a professional, reliable, and patient-focused Dental Assistant to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide high quality chair side assistance to our dentists, perform intra oral duties as permitted by provincial regulations, and ensure an exceptional, comfortable experience for our patients. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including cleanings, fillings, crowns, and orthodontic treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and helping patients feel at ease.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Epic or Maxident, documenting treatments and updates thoroughly.
- .Help with pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for young patients and understanding their specific needs.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dental assisting or related healthcare fields is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Proficiency with dental management software such as Maxident or Epic is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of orthodontics procedures and materials is a plus.
- Experience working as a dental receptionist or in front office roles is beneficial for supporting patient interactions.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices helps create a friendly atmosphere for young patients.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dentistry enhances communication within the team.
