Position Summary

Regency Sandalwood is seeking a dedicated and experienced Interim Dining Room Manager to provide leadership and oversee the daily operations of our dining room during a temporary management assignment.

The Interim Dining Room Manager will be responsible for maintaining high standards of dining service, supervising dining room staff, supporting residents' needs, and ensuring smooth daily operations.

This position requires a hands-on leader who can step into the role confidently, maintain consistency, and create a positive dining experience for our senior living residents.

Key Responsibilities

Dining Room Management

- Oversee daily dining room operations, including lunch and dinner service.
- Ensure the dining room is properly prepared, clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Maintain consistent service standards and ensure meals are served efficiently.
- Work closely with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service and communicate resident needs.
- Monitor dining room operations and address issues promptly.

Staff Leadership and Supervision

- Supervise and support dining room servers.
- Assign daily duties and monitor staff performance.
- Coordinate staff breaks, scheduling, and shift coverage as required.
- Provide guidance, training, and feedback to team members.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and professionalism.
- Address staffing concerns and communicate issues to the General Manager.

Resident Satisfaction

- Build positive relationships with residents and respond to their dining concerns.
- Ensure residents receive friendly, respectful, and attentive service.
- Communicate dietary requests and preferences to the kitchen team.
- Monitor resident satisfaction and address concerns in a timely manner.
- Maintain a warm, comfortable,



and enjoyable dining environment.

Operational Standards

- Ensure food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards are maintained.
- Monitor dining room supplies and communicate inventory needs.
- Support special events, holiday meals, and resident celebrations.
- Ensure daily opening, closing, and cleaning duties are completed.
- Report operational concerns and recommend improvements when necessary.

Interim Management Responsibilities

- Maintain continuity and consistency in dining room operations during the interim period.
- Provide stable leadership and support to the dining services team.
- Follow established Regency Sandalwood policies and procedures.
- Communicate regularly with the General Manager regarding staffing, resident feedback, and operational concerns.
- Assist with the transition of responsibilities at the conclusion of the interim assignment.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in dining room supervision, hospitality, or food service management.
- Experience working in senior living is an asset.
- Solid leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle resident concerns professionally and compassionately.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- FoodSafe certification preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily dining operations.

Work Schedule and Employment Terms Employment: Full-Time, Interim Position

Days: Monday to Friday

Hours: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Duration: Temporary assignment, based on operational needs.

Position Expectations The Interim Dining Room Manager is expected to lead by example, maintain a positive work environment, and ensure that residents continue to receive excellent dining service throughout the temporary assignment.

The primary goal of this position is to provide consistent leadership, staff support, smooth dining room operations, and exceptional resident satisfaction during the interim period.

Pay: Up to $50,000.00 per year
