Join a major new multidisciplinary medical clinic opening in Calgary.

Merrick Global Talent is recruiting Family Physicians for a new purpose-built medical centre in Calgary, Alberta, as part of a growing Canadian clinic group.

This is considerably more than a single-doctor family practice. The Calgary site is being developed as a large multidisciplinary clinic with capacity for around 18 doctors, bringing Family Physicians, specialists, allied health and dental services together in one location.

For a Family Physician looking for a long-term opportunity in Alberta, particularly a doctor considering relocating from the UK, this is one of the most interesting clinic projects we are currently recruiting for.

The clinic

The new Calgary location is being designed to give physicians the infrastructure, administrative support and patient-facing services needed to focus on clinical practice while building a substantial patient panel.

The opportunity

You will provide comprehensive community-based Family Medicine to patients in Calgary, building your own patient panel and providing ongoing primary care.

The clinic is recruiting multiple Family Physicians as it builds the medical team for the new location, rather than replacing a single departing doctor.

Gross billings of up to CAD $750,000 may be achievable, depending on working pattern, patient volume and the applicable billing model.



The clinic operates a fee-for-service model with physician split arrangements that vary according to the clinic model.

Moving from the UK?

Alberta offers a particularly relevant route for suitably qualified internationally trained Family Physicians. International medical graduates from approved jurisdictions may be eligible for CPSA's Approved Jurisdiction Route and, where all requirements are met, can move directly towards registration on Alberta's General Register without additional practice assessments.

Eligibility is assessed individually by the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta. Merrick Global Talent works extensively with UK-trained GPs considering Canada and can help you understand whether your training and experience are likely to provide a realistic Alberta registration pathway before you commit to the process.

You do not need to have completed Canadian registration before speaking with us.

- UK-trained GPs who have completed recognised postgraduate GP training
- Family Physicians already licensed in Alberta or elsewhere in Canada
- US Board Certified Family Physicians considering Canada
- Other internationally trained Family Physicians where a realistic Alberta licensing pathway can be established

All appointments remain subject to eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta.
