We are working with an established multidisciplinary clinic in Scarborough that is looking to recruit up to four Family Physicians as it develops its primary care group.

This is particularly well suited to physicians who want to join a busy clinic with genuine patient demand already in place, rather than spending months trying to build a practice from scratch.

The clinic has been operating for approximately two years and has already seen more than 7,000 patients. A significant proportion of that patient base is actively looking for a regular Family Physician, and the clinic is currently limiting further marketing because demand already exceeds its existing physician capacity.

The opportunity

Incoming Family Physicians will have access to an established flow of patients from the outset, with the opportunity to develop a substantial family practice within a busy Scarborough community.

The clinic is flexible around how the Family Medicine group develops and is open to discussing different practice structures, including FHG and potentially FHO-related models where appropriate.

Physicians currently work on an 80/20 overhead split, with extensive clinical and administrative support provided.

Clinic support

The clinic has been designed to allow physicians to concentrate on patient care while much of the surrounding workflow is handled by an established support team.

Support includes

- Two experienced medical assistants
- Registered nursing support
- Patient prescreening and vital signs completed before consultations
- On-site blood work
- Support for Pap testing, wound care and minor procedures
- Medical supplies provided for procedures
- Administrative support
- Translation support available within the clinic

The wider site also includes physiotherapy, chiropractic services, diagnostic imaging including X-ray and ultrasound, and visiting specialist services.

Patient demand





One of the strongest aspects of this opportunity is the existing patient base.

The clinic has more than 7,000 patients already using its services, with many currently looking for a permanent Family Physician. There is therefore a realistic opportunity for an incoming doctor to establish a patient panel considerably faster than would normally be possible when joining a new practice.

The clinic would also be in a position to increase its marketing activity as additional physicians join.

Scarborough patient population

The clinic serves a diverse community, including significant East Asian, Chinese and South Asian populations.

Physicians who speak additional languages such as Mandarin, Cantonese or Tamil would be particularly welcome, although additional language skills are not essential. Translation support is available through clinic staff.
