About the Role

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and hardworking team member to join our food service team. This position involves providing excellent customer service, taking orders, preparing and serving simple food items, and helping maintain a clean and organized kitchen and service area.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with customers, and takes pride in keeping their work area clean and organized.

Responsibilities

- Greet guests and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Take food orders in person and over the phone.
- Prepare and serve straightforward food items from start to finish.
- Prepare, portion, and organize ingredients for food preparation.
- Stock, package, and organize food items as needed.
- Assist with proper food storage and inventory organization.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
- Wash dishes and clean kitchen equipment, counters, and work surfaces.
- Follow food safety and cleanliness procedures.
- Work cooperatively with other team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Previous food service or customer service experience is an asset.
- Friendly and professional attitude.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and food safety procedures.
- Reliable, punctual,



and dependable.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing regular kitchen and food-service tasks.

About the Greek Market The Greek Market is a family-owned and operated Winnipeg business serving the community since 1996. We are a unique combination of a Greek and Mediterranean kitchen, take-out market, specialty grocery store and catering business.

We prepare authentic food from scratch using quality ingredients and traditional recipes, offering everything from hot meals, salads, soups, dips and desserts to family-style meals and ready-to-eat options. Our specialty grocery section features a wide selection of imported Greek products, including cheeses, olive oils, olives, sweets and pantry essentials.

Our catering business serves everything from corporate lunches and family gatherings to weddings and large events, with menus tailored to our customers’ needs.

Pay: $18.00-$19.50 per hour
