Swipr is a home-services marketplace connecting customers with qualified independent service providers. We are currently onboarding experienced furniture assembly providers throughout Toronto.

The Opportunity

We are seeking dependable, detail-oriented independent providers who have experience assembling residential furniture and access to the necessary tools.

Providers may identify the Toronto neighbourhoods they can reliably serve. Through the Swipr Provider app, providers can review available booking opportunities and decide which bookings they wish to accept.

This is an independent contractor opportunity. Booking volume, working hours and earnings are not guaranteed.

Services May Include

- Beds and bed frames
- Tables, desks and chairs
- Dressers and nightstands
- Bookcases and freestanding shelving
- Wardrobes and storage units
- Outdoor furniture
- Flat-pack furniture from IKEA and other retailers
- Furniture disassembly and reassembly
- Manufacturer-supplied anti-tip restraints where specifically included in the booking and within the provider’s verified qualifications

Responsibilities
- Travel to customer locations within your selected Toronto service areas
- Review instructions, parts and hardware before beginning assembly
- Assemble furniture according to manufacturer instructions
- Bring the tools required for accepted bookings
- Protect customer floors, walls and surrounding property
- Inspect completed furniture for stability and safe operation
- Keep the work area organized and remove assembly-related packaging when included in the booking
- Inform the customer and Swipr about missing, defective or damaged components




- Document existing damage or product defects
- Communicate professionally with customers
- Complete accepted bookings safely and promptly

Requirements
- Previous furniture assembly, installation, carpentry or related experience
- Own basic assembly tools and safety equipment
- Ability to read and follow manufacturer instructions
- Smartphone capable of running the Swipr Provider app
- Reliable transportation to customer locations
- Ability to serve at least one area within Toronto
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Professional communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of furniture assembly, with reasonable accommodation where applicable
- Minimum $2 million commercial general liability insurance covering furniture assembly work
- Willingness to complete Swipr’s identity, document, insurance and service verification process
- Willingness to review and accept the Swipr Provider Agreement

The Initial Service Does Not Include
- Electrical or plumbing work
- Cabinet installation
- Structural alterations
- Custom carpentry
- Television mounting
- Large wall-mounted shelving systems
- Work requiring changes to electrical, plumbing or structural systems
- Any work requiring a regulated trade licence or building permit




- Assembly of items that are missing essential parts or cannot be completed safely

Compensation Estimated provider earnings range from $45 to $70 per service hour, depending on the furniture type, number of items, assembly complexity, required tools and estimated duration.

Providers are paid per completed booking rather than guaranteed hourly wages. Each booking includes a minimum provider payout based on the expected service time. The exact payout, estimated duration, customer location and booking requirements are displayed before the provider decides whether to accept the opportunity.

Higher payouts apply to complex furniture, multi-item bookings and other approved premium assembly services. Booking availability, working hours and total earnings are not guaranteed.

Providers are responsible for their own transportation, tools, insurance, taxes and other business expenses unless otherwise stated for a particular booking.
