Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, visionary, and experienced Head of School to lead IQRA Islamic School in advancing its educational mission, academic excellence, and commitment to Islamic values. This leadership role involves overseeing academic programs, supporting faculty development, strengthening relationships with families and the wider community, and ensuring effective school operations.

The ideal candidate will combine strong educational leadership with strategic thinking, organizational expertise, and a passion for fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and values-driven learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Develop and implement strategic goals that support the school’s educational mission, Islamic values, and long-term growth.
- Provide leadership and guidance to teachers and staff to promote high-quality instruction and student achievement.
- Oversee daily school operations, including staffing, budgeting, resource allocation, and facilities management.
- Support curriculum development and ensure alignment with applicable educational standards and the school’s learning objectives.
- Build strong partnerships with parents, students, staff, community organizations, and school leadership.
- Promote a respectful, safe, and inclusive learning environment grounded in Islamic ethics, mutual respect, and student well-being.
- Monitor academic performance and implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance educational outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable provincial regulations, school policies, and relevant safety requirements.




- Lead staff development initiatives and encourage collaboration, accountability, and qualified growth.
- Represent the school professionally and contribute to its continued development and reputation within the community.

Requirements

- Demonstrated leadership experience in education, school administration, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of teaching practices, curriculum development, and student-centered learning.
- Experience with staff supervision, operational planning, budgeting, and resource management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build team-oriented relationships with teachers, parents, students, and community stakeholders.
- Commitment to academic excellence, student well-being, and the values and educational mission of an Islamic school.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Educational Leadership, School Administration, or a related field; advanced qualifications are an asset.
- Knowledge of applicable British Columbia educational requirements and independent school standards is an asset.
- Ability to lead with integrity, professionalism, cultural awareness, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Pay: $142,700.00-$149,000.00 per year
