Job Performance: Host

Availability:

Shift flexibility is preferred. Permanent, Part Time, On Call, Shift, Overtime, Weekend, Day, Night, Evening shifts may be required.

Salary:

Typically starts at Minimum wage, up to 24.00 Hours per week. Gratuities.

Education:

Some high school preferred

Credentials & Certificates:

Food and Beverage Server Certification, Provincial Responsible Beverage Service Certificate, Safe Food Handling Certificate, First Aid Certification is an asset.

Experience:

Experience in a fast paced working environment, fast food, family or rapid casual dining is preferred, but not necessary.

Languages:

Speak English, Read English, Write English

Business Equipment and Computer Applications:

Squirrel or similar restaurant Point-of-sale system.

Restaurant, Dining Room

Skills Required:

Greeting guests in a timely and hospitable manner, remain organized, Ability to adhere to Smitty’s Steps of Service standards.

Additional Skills:

Address guests' complaints or concerns, Assist guests with special needs, Clear and clean tables, trays and chairs, Load bus pans and trays, Set tables, Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas, Extra cleaning duties as assigned.

Essential Skills:

Good verbal communication skills, basic cash handling and counting skills, Reading text, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, standing for extended periods. Occasionally Lifting up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
