Overview

Innova Security Systems is looking for a skilled and motivated Alarm & CCTV Technician to join our eam. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting security systems in both commercial and residential environments.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has strong technical and problem-solving skills, and can work independently or as part of a team. This position involves working on a variety of projects, travelling to job sites, and delivering high-quality installations and service.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, program, test, and commission alarm systems, CCTV cameras, and video surveillance systems.
- Install and troubleshoot access control systems, door contacts, motion detectors, keypads, and related security equipment.
- Run, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling, including Cat5e/Cat6 and security wiring.
- Configure IP cameras, NVRs, DVRs, and network-connected security devices.
- Diagnose system faults, perform repairs, and complete service calls and maintenance.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, floor plans, and installation drawings.
- Work on commercial and residential projects, ensuring installations meet applicable codes and project specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, electricians, and other trades on-site.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Complete job documentation, service reports, and equipment commissioning as required.
- Travel to various job sites and assist with other low-voltage installations when required.

Requirements

- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in alarm and CCTV installation.
- Proven experience in both commercial and residential environments.
- Strong knowledge of security systems,



CCTV/IP cameras, NVRs, and alarm panels.
- Experience with low-voltage wiring, cable routing, termination, and troubleshooting.
- Basic networking knowledge, including IP addressing and network connectivity.
- Ability to read drawings, follow technical instructions, and solve problems independently.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
- Willingness and ability to travel to different job sites, including occasional out-of-town projects and overnight stays when required.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Strong communication, time-management, and organizational skills.
- Physically capable of lifting equipment, working on ladders, and working in unfinished construction environments.
- Reliable, punctual, professional, and committed to quality workmanship.

Assets
- Experience with access control systems and door entry hardware.
- Experience with DSC, Qolsys, or other security alarm platforms.
- Knowledge of structured cabling, networking equipment, and IP-based systems.
- Relevant security industry certifications or manufacturer training.
- Experience working on new construction, renovations, and retrofit projects.

Job Type: Full time Experience: Minimum 2 years in alarm and CCTV installation

Work Location: Various job sites; travel required

Pay: $22.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
