About the Position

Chateau Inn and Suites in Redwater, Alberta, is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and hands-on Maintenance & Janitorial Worker to join our team.

This is a full-time position that combines general hotel maintenance, janitorial duties, deep cleaning, and indoor and outdoor property upkeep. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, and is willing to assist wherever needed to keep our hotel clean, safe, and well-maintained.

The ideal candidate is dependable, practical, and comfortable performing both cleaning duties and basic maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

General Maintenance

- Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance throughout the hotel.
- Assist with painting, patching walls, replacing basic fixtures, and other general repair tasks.
- Identify and report plumbing leaks, lighting issues, equipment malfunctions, and other maintenance concerns.
- Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, hallways, common areas, and hotel facilities.
- Assist with furniture assembly, moving equipment, and organizing storage areas.
- Keep tools and maintenance supplies clean and organized.

Janitorial and Cleaning

- Clean and maintain hotel common areas, including the lobby, hallways, stairwells, and back-of-house areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces as required.
- Perform deep cleaning in designated areas.
- Empty garbage and recycling bins and maintain cleanliness around waste disposal areas.
- Clean windows, glass doors, entrances, and other surfaces as needed.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and report supply shortages.

Indoor and Outdoor Property Maintenance

- Maintain the cleanliness of hotel entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, and exterior spaces.




- Assist with snow removal and ice control during winter.
- Perform seasonal cleanup, basic landscaping, weed removal, and other outdoor maintenance tasks.
- Keep storage rooms, laundry areas, and designated mechanical spaces clean and organized.
- Assist with cleaning and general upkeep of hotel recreational facilities as directed.

Safety and General Duties

- Report safety hazards, damages, and maintenance issues to management promptly.
- Follow established cleaning procedures and workplace safety requirements.
- Use tools, cleaning products, and equipment safely and appropriately.
- Assist other departments when required.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the General Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in maintenance, janitorial services, building upkeep, or a similar position is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and minor repairs is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, bending, standing, and working indoors and outdoors.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, hardworking, and able to follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptable and willing to perform a variety of tasks based on hotel needs.
