Do you have experience working in a print shop or copy centre? Enjoy working with customers, solving problems, and seeing a job through from start to finish? Enjoy being around the sights and smells of brewing and fermentation?

Terminal City Brewing is looking for someone to join our team. We've been helping Vancouverites make their own beer, wine, and cider since 1993, and we're looking for a new team member who wants to stick around for the long haul.

A big part of this role is running our custom label printing service. Our customers create personalized labels for their beer, wine, and cider, and we need someone who can help turn those designs into finished products that look great.

What you'll be doing

Custom label printing

- Reviewing customer-submitted artwork to ensure designs are properly sized and ready for printing
- Identifying and resolving problems with artwork, layouts, and print quality
- Preparing print files and operating our digital label printing equipment
- Ensuring finished labels meet our quality standards
- Managing printing orders and keeping work organized

Retail and customer service

- Helping customers with home brewing purchases and answering questions
- Guiding customers towards the right choice when they're ordering beer/wine/cider with us
- Assisting customers with bottling or canning their purchases
- Preparing orders, including weighing and packaging ingredients
- Receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, and maintaining inventory
- Processing purchases and operating the till
- Keeping the store organized, clean, and welcoming

Brewery operations

- Assisting with beer, wine, and cider production
- Helping with filtering, carbonation, and other production tasks as needed
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment
- Pitching in wherever the team needs a hand

Who we're looking for Our ideal candidate has spent several years working in a copy centre, print shop, or similar production environment.

Experience with digital printing will be a priority for us - if you understand margins, offsets, what full bleed means and why we would want files in a particular format, you are who we are looking for!

We're particularly interested in someone who:

- Has hands-on experience preparing artwork and operating digital printing equipment
- Understands print layouts, sizing, resolution, and common file formats
- Is comfortable working with customers and handling orders
- Has experience in a retail environment
- Is detail-oriented and takes pride in getting things right
- Can work independently, recognize what needs doing, and take initiative
- Is mechanically inclined and comfortable learning to operate equipment
- Enjoys being part of a supportive team
- Is physically capable of handling products and equipment weighing up to 25 kg, with appropriate handling procedures

A background in graphic design or a personal interest in creating digital art is a definite asset. An interest in beer, wine, cider, or home brewing is also a plus, but we're happy to teach you that side of the business.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career with us. We hope to find someone who will become part of the team for years to come.

What's it like working here?

We're an established, independent Vancouver business with a small, close-knit team. Many of our employees have been with us for years.

Our workplace is casual and hands-on. Music is significant, there's always something interesting happening, and no two days are quite the same.

We value people who are dependable, curious, willing to learn, and happy to roll up their sleeves. There's never a shortage of things to do, and we appreciate team members who can help make sure things run smoothly for everyone.
