You enjoy turning observations into play-based experiences and sharing children’s learning with families. You’re calm, dependable and organized, and you work well with colleagues. You can provide clear day-to-day program guidance to Early Childhood Assistants (ECAs) while remaining open to feedback and new ideas.

- Build positive relationships with families, invite their input and share information about children’s care, experiences and development while protecting confidentiality.
- Provide day-to-day program guidance to ECAs, share clear handovers and follow the College of Early Childhood Educators’ Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice and Continuous Professional Learning requirements.
- Fulfil your duty to report child-protection concerns directly to a Children’s Aid Society without delaying or delegating the report.
You are qualified if you have:
- Registration as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) and current membership in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.

- Ability to plan, document and evaluate learning experiences, provide responsive daily care and implement individualized supports.
- Strong communication, observation, organizational and teamwork skills, with sound judgement, discretion and respect for children and families.
Working conditions:
Shifts take place within daycare and before- and after-school operating hours and may include opening or closing duties, as assigned. This is an active indoor and outdoor role involving sustained attention, frequent movement, bending and reaching, work at children’s level, personal care and safely lifting or supporting children and materials as needed.
