Merridale is making an exciting change to our service model. We’re moving to table service, creating more opportunities to connect with guests, deliver great food and drinks, and make every visit memorable. We’re looking for experienced servers who enjoy a busy, guest-focused environment and understand that excellent hospitality is about much more than taking orders.

And here’s something worth knowing: we stay busy well beyond summer. Fall and winter bring their own energy, seasonal experiences, tastings, and guests looking for a place to gather. We have multiple positions available, with both full-time and part-time opportunities.

How We Work at Merridale

We believe great service happens when everyone works together. As a server, you’ll take the lead in looking after your tables, from welcoming guests and taking orders to delivering food and ensuring everyone has a great experience. You won’t be doing it alone.

Our StoryTellers help guests discover the stories behind our food, ciders, and spirits. Think of them as our own version of cider and spirit sommeliers. Our bartenders prepare drinks and help bring the Merridale experience to life.

You’ll work closely with both, along with our kitchen team, to keep service flowing and guests happy. Everyone contributes, and everyone shares in the same tip pool across Front of House and Back of House. We believe the whole team contributes to a great guest experience, and our tip-sharing approach reflects that. We help one another, communicate, and step in wherever we're needed.

What You’ll Do

- Welcome guests, take orders at the table, and look after your tables throughout the dining experience.




- Coordinate with our StoryTellers and bartenders to ensure guests receive knowledgeable, attentive service.
- Learn our menu and understand our farm-to-fork and orchard-to-glass philosophies.
- Explain that much of the food we serve is made in our own Merridale kitchen, including baked goods prepared by our bakers.
- Share the story behind our ciders and spirits, almost all of which are made right here at Merridale, with support from our StoryTellers and bartenders.
- Keep tables clean, welcoming, and ready for guests.
- Stay aware of what’s happening in the room and anticipate what your guests and teammates need.
- Work closely with the kitchen and bar to maintain smooth, efficient service.
- Let guests know about tastings, tours, events, and other experiences available around the farm.
- Jump in and help your teammates during busy periods. We all contribute to the experience.

Who We’re Looking For - We’re looking for people who know the pace of restaurant service and take pride in doing it well. You’ll be a good fit if you:

- Enjoy connecting with people and making them feel genuinely welcome.
- Can manage your tables confidently while staying aware of the bigger picture.
- Are quick, organized, observant, and attentive to detail.
- Communicate well with guests and teammates.
- Understand that great service depends on cooperation between the floor, bar, and kitchen.
- Are comfortable in a busy, multifaceted environment where no two shifts are exactly alike.
- Bring a positive attitude, a sense of humour, and a willingness to help wherever needed.
