About Us

Connelly & Koshy is a mid-sized Ottawa accounting firm with a growing client base and approximately 40 professionals serving owner-managed businesses.

The Role

You will lead the review of corporate and personal tax engagements and act as the technical anchor for the tax team. Your work will split between the owner-managed clients who make up the core of our practice and the more complex corporate groups that need reorganization, planning, and multi-entity compliance work. You will review, advise, develop staff, and own client relationships alongside our partners.

This role can be performed remotely from anywhere in Canada. We are looking for someone comfortable leading and reviewing work virtually.

What You Will Do:

- Review T2 returns, schedules, and workpapers for owner-managed businesses and multi-entity corporate groups
- Advise on owner-manager planning: remuneration strategy (salary vs. dividends), passive income and the small business deduction grind, CDA/RDTOH/safe income, LCGE and QSBC planning, and holding company structures
- Lead or review reorganizations, rollovers (s. 85, 51, 86), butterflies, amalgamations, windups, and intergenerational transfers and succession plans.
- Manage tax planning and compliance for larger corporate groups, including associated corporation issues, inter-company transactions, and Part IV tax.
- Handle CRA audits, reviews, objections, and voluntary disclosures
- Coach and develop seniors and staff through clear, constructive review feedback
- Manage engagement budgets, billing, and realization, and support partners on proposals and business development.
- Help improve firm review processes, templates,



and use of technology.

What You Bring:

- CPA designation; CPA In-Depth Tax Course is an asset.
- 4 to 6 years of Canadian corporate tax experience, including 1 to 2 years reviewing others’ work
- Strong working knowledge of the Income Tax Act as it applies to private corporations, shareholders, and corporate groups
- Experience with both owner-managed clients and multi-entity structures
- Comfort being the final technical check before partner sign-off
- Proficiency with tax and working paper software (TaxPrep /Caseware/CCH iFirm)
- Excellent communication skills with business owners and other advisors
- A genuine interest in developing people

What We Offer:

- Salary range: $110,000 – $130,000 CAD, depending on experience
