Position Details

- Job Title: Health Care Aide/Supp
- Location: Strathmore, Alberta
- Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
- Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Employment Type: Part-time
- Start Date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities

- Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to ensure comfort and safety
- Support patients with medication administration following prescribed guidelines and protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation
- Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a hygienic environment
- Support individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments through specialized care techniques




- Collaborate with nursing staff and other health professionals to monitor health status and report any changes or concerns promptly

Qualifications
- Health Care Aide certificate preferred.
- Previous home care experience is an asset.
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and professional.
- Good English communication skills.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Reliable transportation to Strathmore is required.

Skills

- Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care environments
- Strong patient care skills with an understanding of senior care, hospice care, and caregiving best practices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting with transfers or mobility needs
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or those experiencing dementia
- Excellent communication skills combined with compassion, patience, and attentiveness
- Ability to maintain cleanliness through effective cleaning routines while supporting overall client well-being
