This full time, onsite role at Xcimer is pivotal for adaptive optics in their Directed Energy program. You will own the requirements and performance models that ensure optimal system performance, while also translating vital lessons from directed energy into fusion beam control strategies. Collaboration with engineers and external partners is key for comprehensive development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Own adaptive optics requirements and performance for laser systems • Lead technical interface with external partners on beam control • Define test plans validating performance and integration • Mentor engineers on adaptive optics and wavefront control • Drive resources and schedules for adaptive optics projects
Requirements: • Advanced degree in optics, physics, or related field • 8+ years of optical science and adaptive optics experience • Proven delivery track record in beam control systems • Experience with high-energy laser systems • U.S. citizenship or permanent resident required
