SAP Supply Chain Professional
Pay Rate: $43.56/hour, depending on experience
Contract Length: 1 Year
Location: Burnaby, British Columbia
Raise is currently hiring a SAP Supply Chain Professional on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The SAP Supply Chain Professional in this role will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Category Management (CatMan) and Procurement & Sourcing Services (PSS) activities in support of Project & Contract Management (PCM) projects. This role delivers integrated sourcing strategies, supplier market analysis, competitive event execution, and contract award support across a diverse portfolio.
Serving as the single point of accountability for sourcing delivery—from project intake through evaluation, award recommendation, and purchase order execution—this position ensures full compliance with our client's procurement policies, Indigenous procurement frameworks, and financial governance standards.
Responsibilities
1. Sourcing Strategy & Project Intake
Review purchase requisitions (PRs) to determine the appropriate sourcing strategy (e.g., secondary sourcing, competitive tenders).
Partner with Project Managers and business stakeholders to define scope, commercial approach, and project timelines.
Ensure all intake activities align with overarching category strategies and corporate procurement policies.
2. Category Management (CatMan) & Market Analysis
Conduct comprehensive supplier market analysis using internal tools (e.g., geomatics systems) to identify qualified vendors by geography and category.
Determine appropriate sourcing pathways (First Nations Directory Business / FNDB vs. non-FNDB) based on vendor availability thresholds.
Validate supplier eligibility, existing Offer Agreements (OAs), and provide strategic input on packaging and evaluation criteria.
3. Strategic Sourcing & Competitive Events
Develop and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and competitive event documentation, including scope of work, commercial terms, and evaluation matrices.
Initiate and manage competitive sourcing events via email, SharePoint, or dedicated sourcing platforms.
Coordinate all bidder communications and clarifications to ensure fairness, transparency,
and process auditability.
4. Bid Evaluation & Award Recommendation
Lead the commercial evaluation and compliance review of proponent submissions.
Coordinate technical evaluations alongside project teams, technical SMEs, and Supply Chain leaders.
Consolidate bid data, perform comparative analytical modeling, identify preferred proponents, and draft rigorous evaluation reports and award recommendations.
5. Contract Award & Governance Compliance
Communicate sourcing outcomes to vendors, facilitating regret notifications and vendor debriefs as needed.
Ensure full execution of required governance documentation (e.g., First Nations Procurement Assessment Framework [FNPAF] and Master OA alignment for FNDB; justification/approval docs for non-FNDB).
Support final contract execution and sign-off in accordance with governance rules.
6. Purchase Order (PO) Execution
Facilitate PO creation within SAP under established Master OAs or standalone arrangements.
Enforce strict compliance with Financial Authority Approval Processes (FAAP).
Coordinate PO issuance and ensure seamless transition to the project execution team.
7. Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Advisory
Act as the primary Supply Chain contact and trusted advisor for assigned PCM projects.
Guide project teams on sourcing strategy, market risks, commercial considerations, and procurement governance.
Drive continuous improvement by providing feedback on sourcing workflows, tools, and templates.
Dimensions & Scope
Manages multiple concurrent sourcing events ranging from low-value procurements to high-value, complex contracts ($100K+).
Directly influences project schedules, cost efficiencies, commercial negotiations, and risk mitigation through supplier selection and commercial strategy.
Operates within established public sector procurement standards, internal financial authorities, and corporate policy guidelines.
Decision Making & Autonomy
Autonomously determines the operational sourcing approach within established category strategies and corporate guidelines.
Formulates and defends supplier selection and contract award recommendations based on structured evaluations.
Exercises sound commercial judgment regarding supplier risk, process integrity, and contract compliance.
Escalates high-risk decisions, policy exceptions, or non-compliance scenarios through designated leadership channels.
Qualifications
Must-Haves (Required)
A minimum five (5) years of sourcing, category management or equivalent, preferably in a complex workplace.
Strong foundational understanding of strategic sourcing processes, Category Management, and commercial negotiation principles.
Proven expertise using SAP (specifically PR/PO processing and release strategies) alongside digital sourcing tools.
Advanced quantitative skills with proven experience in bid evaluation, pricing analysis, and complex Excel data modeling.
Nice-to-Haves (Assets)
Working knowledge of public sector procurement practices, trade agreements, transparency standards, and corporate governance.
Direct understanding or experience with Indigenous procurement frameworks, specifically the First Nations Directory Business (FNDB) framework or similar economic inclusion initiatives.

Education and Certifications
College degree in a business-related field such as Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Finance, or equivalent.
Certificate or additional education in Supply Chain Management, an asset.
Certificate or additional education in Project Management, an asset.
Additional Information
Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
Every contractor must supply their own Smart Phone. This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network.
