This part-time Educational Assistant role (17.5 hours/week) is essential under the direction of the Principal, providing support to students with exceptional needs. Collaborate with teaching staff while adapting learning programs, assisting in pool programs, and implementing behavioral support strategies. You will enhance the educational experience for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental disabilities, and other challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other exceptional needs
• Implement and modify learning programs as needed
• Participate in academic support and pool programs
• Assist with toileting, lifting, and feeding when required
• Maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment
Requirements:
• Community college diploma in relevant fields required
• 1-2 years experience with special needs children
• Valid First Aid certification/CPR Level C preferred
• Training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or similar
• Strong ability in behavioral modification and data recording
