Operate a variety of heavy civil construction equipment including, but not limited to:
Operate a motor grader for snow and ice removal
Maintain site roads, access routes, parking areas and work areas
Perform pre-use equipment inspections and identify maintenance concerns
Work safely around mobile equipment and changing winter conditions
Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
Complete inspection reports and equipment logbooks, and communicate any deficiencies to the supervisor or maintenance personnel.
Communicate effectively with crew members, spotters, and supervisors using hand signals and radio communications.
Follow project specifications, site safety requirements, and company operating procedures.
Position Requirements
Solid commitment to safety including personal safety and the safety of co-workers
Demonstrated experience operating Graders in winter conditions
Ability to perform grading, excavation, trenching, material placement, and site preparation activities with precision and efficiency.
Willingness to step out of the cab and perform labour tasks if and when required including shoveling tracks, fueling, greasing, and cleaning equipment, operating powered equipment, loading, and unloading of miscellaneous supplies and equipment, and other duties as needed and able to manage up to 50lbs.
Ability to work outside in changing weather conditions over a 12 hour shift
Ability to work night shift.
Ability to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
Must hold a valid BC driver licence with reliable to transport to meet in Prince George/VanderhoofPreference will be given to candidates currently residing in British Columbia or Alberta due to project locations, mobilization logistics, and scheduling requirements.
