Responsibilities
Develop and deliver engaging drama lessons tailored to students’ age groups and skill levels, fostering a love for performing arts
Plan and coordinate theatrical performances, including rehearsals, set design, costumes, and stage management
Support students in developing acting techniques, voice projection, improvisation skills, and stage presence
Create a secure and inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence and teamwork among students
Assess student progress through observations, feedback, and performance evaluations to help them improve their craft
Collaborate with colleagues on school productions, extracurricular activities, and community events
Incorporate elements of early childhood education where appropriate to ensure activities are accessible and enjoyable for younger learners
Skills
Proven experience in teaching or tutoring drama or performing arts to children or young adults
Robust classroom management skills with the ability to motivate and engage students of diverse backgrounds
Experience working with children in educational settings, including early childhood education environments
Ability to incorporate creative activities such as cooking or arts & crafts into lesson plans to enhance learning experiences
Excellent communication skills to clearly convey instructions and provide constructive feedback
Passion for nurturing talent in young performers while maintaining a lively and energetic teaching style
Knowledge of theatrical techniques, stagecraft, and performance production processes
