The successful candidate would be working within our licensed daycare in the Infant, Toddler or Preschool rooms. This is a great position for new ECEs looking to gain experience or those interested in the ECE program. MECC offers an ECE Apprenticeship program through Conestoga College!
This is an on-call supply teaching position and does not have a set shift or schedule.
Responsibilities;
Implement daily activities using materials and resources provided.
Supervise and engage with children ages 6 months to 6 years.
Provide behavior management strategies and support to promote a positive learning environment.
Facilitate creative activities, circle time, and group play.
Provide one-on-one attention during Montessori work periods to guide children.
Report to the centre Supervisor/Owner and work in collaboration with other staff members.
Serve snacks and lunch, cleaning up after meals.
Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment
Play with the children and model positive interactions, problem-solving, and language.
Experience;
MUST have a Canadian Recognized Early Childhood Educator or Equivalent
MUST have up-to-date CPR/First Aid Level C
MUST have a explicit, vulnerable sector police check within the last 6 months.
Experience working in a licensed childcare setting.
Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
Knowledge of HDLH and ELECT
Strong writing, oral, and communication skills
Familiar with early childhood education principles and practices.
