Qualifications

- Robust foundation in computer science, mathematics, or electrical engineering, including proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI (e.g., Python, PyTorch, etc.).
- Background or interest in key AI areas such as machine learning, deep learning, data science, natural language processing, computer vision.
- Experience with research methods, including formulating research questions, designing experiments, performing data analysis,



and interpreting results.
- Ability to read, synthesize, and critically evaluate academic literature, and to communicate findings clearly in written and oral formats.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Completed or nearing completion of a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree for admission to the master’s or doctoral program, respectively, meeting York University’s academic and admissions criteria.
- Interest in applying AI to address real-world challenges and contributing to York University’s mission of positive societal impact.
- Willingness to be present on campus in Toronto, ON, and to participate actively in seminars, workshops, and research group activities.
- A/A+ GPA, B+ for exceptional candidates with strong research experience.
