Responsibilities
Prepare patients for echocardiogram procedures by explaining the process and ensuring comfort.
Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images of the heart, including chambers, valves, and blood flow.
Follow established protocols to ensure accurate and consistent imaging results.
Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure, adhering to infection control standards.
Document procedure details accurately in patient records and communicate findings to supervising physicians.
Assist with equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with cardiologists and healthcare team members to support comprehensive patient assessments.
Skills
Prior experience in medical imaging or ultrasound technology is preferred
Current accreditation with Sonography Canada or ARDMS (required)
Strong understanding of medical terminology related to cardiac anatomy and physiology and echocardiographic techniques.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain meticulous records.
